Zion Church - Moculta (Gnadenberg)
Many of the original members of the Zion, Gnadenberg congregation originated from the Bethany church.
The Bethany Church was a 12km journey to worship every Sunday and for many families this was unsustainable.
Once it was decided that this was very impractical they formed a congregation of their own in Moculta.
Land was donated by a Brethren of the congregation and shortly after that the task of building the church was planned and begun.
The dedication of the finished church took place near the end of 1860.
Additions to the church over the years included the new bell tower, the bell, a new organ and a gallery.
The new bell and bell tower was dedicated in 1905.
