Immanuel Church - Light Pass

The original members of the Light Pass Congregation worshipped at Langmeil until they built a school building in the township where services could then be held.

Pastor Kavel would come and minister to the Light Pass congregation once every six weeks. The church was then built and completed in 1850.

To begin with there was no seating provided inside the church so members would usually bring along seating, in the form of small logs.

This church was outgrown by the congregation within a few years and the new and current church was then built in 1886.

A bell tower was added in 1930. This was the final piece of construction to the church.

In 1940 English services were introduced.

In 1950 the church was completely renovated inside.

11 years later, in 1961 an electric pipe organ was installed.
