Salem Church - Penrice
Three families began the formation of the Salem congregation in 1918 after worshipping at Angaston for a few years.
The following year they purchased a very small church from the Congregationalists.
The church was already very old as it was originally built by the Methodists in 1855 and sold to the Congregationalists in 1911.
Many repairs were made to the church before dedication as a Lutheran church in September of 1919.
The lightening in the church has gone from acetylene gas, to kerosene lamps and finally electricity.
